Anxiety and Pain

July 28, 2008

What I have found in working with people for many years is that we all have anxiety. Anxiety can be a trigger to pain. When we look at the anxiety and pain parts very often they are like first cousins holding hands. As soon as we feel anxious about something it triggers the pain part and voila we have a pain in the lower back or shoulder.

My intention is to begin an newsletter or perhaps a second blog about anxiety. Have you ever experienced performance anxiety? Anxiety over test taking, over a speech, over going to the airport, about intimacy? Performance anxiety can also lead to pain.

One of the methods I have used to lower anxiety is using the Tibetan and Crystal bowls. When I feel any type of anxiety, I play the bowls and send the vibrations to the part of me that is feeling anxious. Usually for me its in the solar plexis

I would be very interested in how you handle anxiety and what tools you have and whether you
use them.
